Mon., May 17th. - Could'nt train. Had to visit Dentist for an emergency because of an abscess in mouth that had to be drained.
Tues., May 18th.- Cycled in Park. My face was still very swollen, and the first two laps were very painful, but after that, the painkillers kicked in and it was'nt as bad. Rode 3:04:55 Hrs. for 54.98-miles with about 18 other riders in a paceline. Took turns leading, and it was fuuuun! Also tried to run, but it was a no-go. Too painful.
Thurs., May 20th.- Cycled in Park, and did a paceline again, but with a smaller group of about 12 cyclist. It was nice except for the pollen count which made riding very tough. Rode 2:44:50 Hrs. for 44.80-miles.
Sat., May 22nd. - Cycled in Park, but went out too late in the morning. Short, easy ride. Rode 1:37:02 Hrs. for 27.90-miles.
Sun., May 23rd. - Cycled solo up to Nyack. Went out about 12:30P.M., and it was very hot, but I had a nice ride. Rode 3:12:42 Hrs. for 55.65-miles.

Week 21
Mon., May 31st. - Ran on Treadmill. 42:18 Mins. for 5-miles. Might've slightly strained groin muscle. Felt it after I finished running.
Tues., June 1st. - Cycled in Park. Rode 3:13:23 Hrs. for 58.64-miles. Rode solo in late afternoon, and did a medium tempo ride.
Wed., June 2nd. - Cycled to Nyack with NYCC. Got a flat about eight miles from Nyack, and rode with a little bit of air that was left in tire, because I didn't want to get dropped. Kept up and made it, fixed flat, and within five mins., got another flat. Finally found a small piece of metal in tire, but group had already left to return to the city, so I rode back alone. Excellent ride with group. Rode 3:39:47 Hrs., for 60.79-miles, then went out and ran 32:14 Mins. for 4-miles in Park immediately after cycling.
Thurs., June 3rd. - Cycled in Park. Rode 2:43:08 Hrs., for 38.76-miles. Easy spin. Legs feeling a little tired after yesterday's training.
Fri., June 4th. - Cycled in Park. Rode 2:28:06 Hrs., for 40.45-miles. Super easy spin to let legs recover. Ran in park immediately after cycling. 44:38 Mins., for 5.50-miles, and felt good.
Didn't get a chance to ride this weekend, because of weather and other circumstances.

Week 22
Mon., June 7th. Cycled in Park. Rode 2:34:45 Hrs., for 41.93-miles. Medium spin after taking last two days off.
Tues., June 8th. Cyled in Park. Rode 3:18:40 Hrs., for 51.02-miles.
Fri., June 11th. Cycled in Park. Rode 2:30:59 Hrs., for 45.22-miles, then I ran along East River immediately afterwards. Ran 34:50 Mins., for 4-miles. It was really hot, and my hamstrings were cramping a little, but they held out.
Sat., June 12th. Cycled to Nyack. Did an early ride by myself. Rode 3:37:19 Hrs., for 56.17-miles. Did a slow easy spin for the entire ride. Legs were tired from the previous workout, and I also only had two hours of sleep.
Sun., June 13th. Cycled up to near Bear Mountain. Another solo ride, but it was good. Left hamstring started cramping on the return trip with about twenty miles left, and it slowed me down a little, but I made it home. Rode 4:50:49 Hrs., for 81.31-miles.
I'm steadily building up my mileage and coming down in weight so that I can be race-ready for the late summer early fall racing season.

Tues., June 15th. - Cycled in Central Park. Medium spin. Rode 3:09:13 Hrs., for 51.47-miles, then ran along East River. 29:12 Mins., for 3-miles. Very easy run. Just wanted to get the turn-over in my legs.
Wed., June 16th. - Did the Wed. morning group ride up to Nyack and back. Legs were feeling a bit tired. Rode 4:01:04 Hrs., for 68.48-miles.
Thurs., June 17th. - Cycled in Central Park. Rode 1:47:02 Hrs., for 31.81-miles.
Fri., June 18th. - Did a very easy spin in Central Park. Rode 2:55:47 Hrs., for 45.24-miles, then ran later on treadmill at gym. Ran 34:54 Mins., for 4-miles.
Sun., June 20th. - Cycled up to the exit for Westpoint solo. Very nice day and perfect weather. Rode 5:53:46 Hrs., for 102.86-miles. Felt fine. No cramps or any problems.

Fri., June 25th. - Cycled in Central Park. Feeling kinda burnt-out. Rode 1:34:14 Hrs., for 26.26-miles. Ran on treadmill afterwards. 34:53 Mins., for 4-miles.

Week 25
This is a heavy mileage week. I'm experimenting with my training by staggering the amount of weekly mileage: i.e., A high mileage week, followed by a week of light training, so as to recover and also to avoid overtraining. I'll gradually increase the mileage of my light training weeks to about 60% of training volume of the previous heavy mileage week, and see how that works.
Tues., June 29th. - Cycled in Central Park. Rode 3:12:45 Hrs., for 51.17-miles. Easy ride. Saving legs for tomorrow's ride.
Wed., June 30th. - Cycled to Nyack with cycling club. Rode 4:06:54 Hrs., for 70.63-miles. Legs felt great.
Thurs., July 1st. - Cycled in Central Park. Did an easy spin. Rode 3:10:24 Hrs., for 50.30-miles.
Sat., July 3rd. - Cycled with my roommate, Kyle and his friends. All TriAthlethes. Had a great ride with a great group of people. Rode 4:56:56 Hrs., for 89.60-miles. Left at 5:15A.M.
Sun., July 4th. - Cycled in Central Park at 4:15A.M., solo. Rode 2:13:43 Hrs., for 40.53-miles. It was very nice. Had the park all to myself.

Wed., July 7th. - Cycled in Central Park. Started including hill repeats, which will be done once per week. Rode 1:07:42 Hrs., for 16.47-miles. 6-hill repeats in the small chain ring. Ran afterwards with Kyle along East River. Ran 35:00 Mins., for 3.5-miles.
Sun., July 11th. - Cycled over the GW-Bridge with Kyle and his friends. Rode 4:46:45 Hrs., for 83.73-miles. Beautiful day, and a great ride.

Traditionally I usually start losing steam and slow down around this time of the year, and then up my training in mid-September, so I need to make a big effort not allow that to happen this year. Hopefully I'll be able to start raising my mileage a bit more instead of less.

Wed., July 14th. - Cycled in Central Park. Easy spin. Rode 2:37:34 Hrs., for 45.25-miles.
Fri., July 16th. - Cycled in Central Park. Easy spin. Rode 2:56:09 Hrs., for 47.75-miles. Ran along East River three hours later in the evening. Ran 36:38 Mins., for 4-miles.
Sat., July 17th. - Cycled in Central Park in the late evening solo. Rode 2:27:04 Hrs., for 43:23-miles. Medium Tempo Ride.

Wed., July 21st. - Ran in Central Park along Bridle Path. Ran 47:32 Mins., for 5.50-miles. It was very humid, and I ran in the late evening around 7:15p.m.
Thurs., July 22nd. - Cycled in Central Park early around 5:30a.m. Rode 3:27:56 Hrs., for 60.25-miles. Didn't feel very well, or I would've ridden longer.

Tues., July 27th. - Cycled solo in Central Park in mid-afternoon. Dark and gloomy, and rained the last half of my ride. Rode 3:04:32 Hrs., for 48.67-miles.
Thurs., July 29th. - Cycled solo in Central Park in late evening around 7;00p.m. It was too crowded. Rode 1:39:25 Hrs., for 32.52-miles.
Fri., July 30th. - Ran along East River in late evening with Heather Cooksey (good friend). Slow, easy run. Ran 55:03 Mins., for 5-miles.
Sat., July 31st. - Cycled in the morning. Did a couple laps in Central Park, then rode up to Nyack St. Beach solo. Rode 4:35:35 Hrs., for 74.85-miles. Did a slow run with Heather Cooksey late in the evening. Again, a slow, easy run. Ran 52:04 Mins., for 4-miles.
